1. How much does an eye examination cost?

Depending on the services rendered at the time of visit and what your insurance coverage is, fees vary.  We accept both vision and medical insurance here at our office.  At the time of scheduling your appointment, please provide us with both vision and medical insurance and our insurance specialist will review your insurance and have a quote ready for you at the time of your visit.

2. What are my insurance benefits?
We advise all our patients to come to their appointment knowing the details of their insurance coverage.  Our job is to review accepted medical and vision benefits and educate with patients at the time of their appointment.  To avoid getting any unexpected bills, it is the patients job to verify any benefit coverage concerns, deductibles, and copay's, as we try to avoid any misunderstandings and miscommunication.  A list of vision and medical insurances we participate with, are located in the Our Patients section  Please feel free to go over that section in order to verify.  Should you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us directly at our office.

3. What do I need to bring with me at the time of my appointment?

At the time of your appointment, we like to inform our patients to bring in any current prescription glasses, contact lens boxes, a form of ID and insurance cards you may have.

4. How long does it take to get my glasses or contact lenses?
For glasses, we send our patients frame, which they would like to get lenses made in, to special labs.  For that, the process may take up to 10 business days.  After the lenses come back to us, we do a full inspection, here at our lab, to make sure everything came out right as ordered, and we then notify our patients in order to come by and fit the glasses.  Contact lenses are ordered through our manufacturer, and usually take about 1-2 business days, if they are in stock, depending on the type or brand of contact.

5. Why do I need to be dilated?
The importance of a Dilated Fundus Examination is to check for damage to the optic nerve, and can detect any ocular diseases, such as glaucoma.  During a dilated examination, the pupils are dilated, in which an eye care professional checks the back of the eye, or the retina.  For more information on a Dilated Fundus Exam, watch this video to see what an eye care professional checks for.
